SOUTH BEND - Paula Marie Davenport, 73, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010, in Tampa, Florida. She was born in South Bend, Indiana, on October 29, 1936, to Don E. and Doris Elizabeth (McKowen) Smith. She was a homemaker, a resident of Avon Park since 1985, coming from Indiana, a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, was a member of the Women's Guild at Our Lady of Grace, enjoyed church activities, and was a loving wife, mother and a devoted friend. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, George Davenport Jr. of Avon Park, Florida; son, Rick Davenport (Mickey) of Plymouth, Indiana; daughters, Jodi Sportsman (Michael) of Overland Park, Kansas, and Kim Horvath of Concord, North Carolina; sisters, Sheila Laman (Richard) of Avon Park, Florida, and Kay Swank (Jack) of Michigan; brother, Don Smith (Joyce) of Ocala, Florida; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2010, in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Grace Parish, Paula Davenport Student Scholarship. Arrangements were entrusted to the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home of Avon Park, Florida.
