Mamie Geraldine Davidson

Mrs. Mamie Geraldine Davidson, 82, who resided on Westwood Lane, South Bend, Ind., passed away following an illness at 9:06 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Transitional Health Services.  On Sept. 12, 1915, in Jackson, Tenn., she was born to the union of Johnny Davis and Mattie (Ward) Williams. Coming from Jackson, she moved to South Bend in 1936.

 

In South Bend, she was united in wedlock to Grady Davidson on Nov. 25, 1936. Mr. Davidson preceded her in death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by a son, Raymond Davidson; a granddaughter, Sherrie Davidson; three sisters, Loretta Chester, Clara Mae Winston and Anna Mae Chism; and by four brothers, Bruce Williams, Y.B. Williams, J. D. Williams and Robert Williams.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary (Bennie) Winters, Elayne Delores Webb and Susie Hawkins, all of South Bend; two grandsons, Raymond Davidson and Vincent Davidson of South Bend, along with 18 other grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Mrs. Davidson was a member of the Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ where she was a member of the Mothers Board, a former president of the Missionary Board, former president of the Prayer and Bible Band, and also a former Evangelist Missionary of Indiana North Jurisdiction, Churches of God in Christ.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday at the Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church. Alford's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
