Willie Carlton Davis

March 4, 1943 - April 6, 2001

Willie Carlton Davis, 58, of 221 Rue Rabelais, Apt. 1420, South Bend, Ind., died in his home at 4:10 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2001. He was born on March 4, 1943, to Booker T. and Sydney Ann (Williams) Davis in Eutaw, Alabama.

He married A. Dolores Sleets on December 15, 1978, in Indianapolis, Ind. She survives with two sons, Marcus Carlton Davis of Orlando, Fla., and Isaiah Jeremiah Davis of Indianapolis; two daughters, Wendy Davis-Towns of Decatur, Ga., and Ardenya (D.D.) Davis of Indianapolis; two stepdaughters, Bridgette R. Tooks of Atlanta, Ga., and Schinetta M. Barrett of Indianapolis; a stepson, Keith A. Barrett of Columbus, Ind.; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Also surviving are two sisters, Elizabeth Davis of Milwaukee, Wis., and Diane Davis-Hinton of Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, Booker T. and Eddie Davis, both of Eutaw, Ala.; many nieces and nephews; a great-aunt and many loving friends also survive.

A son, Kenneth Lavoid Davis, preceded in death on June 29, 1995.

Mr. Davis was a plant manager in the automotive industry. He also graduated from the MIT Sloane Fellows Program.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2001, at 3:00 p.m. in Williams & Bluitt Funeral Home in Indianapolis, Ind. The Rev. Ray Ware will officiate. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home & Crematory was in charge of local arrangements.
