Harry Francis Day

Harry Francis Day, 67, of 1508 E. Bowman St., died at 10 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Hospital after an illness of two weeks.

 

He was an employee in the fire and safety maintenance department of the Bendix Corp. Born Aug. 23, 1903, in Urbana, Ill., he came to South Bend 42 years ago.

 

On April 16, 1927, in South Bend he married Esther Howell, who survives.

 

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Patsy Doyle and Mrs. Dixie McMichael, both of South Bend; five grandchildren; three brothers, Fred and William, both of South Bend; and Walter of Tucson, Ariz.; and four sisters, Mrs. Cecil Lightfoot of Lakeville, Miss Susan Day and Mrs. Dorothy Renshaw, both of Charleston, Ill., and Mrs. Helen Brock of Whitewater, Wis.

 

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the South Bend Chapel of the Hollis Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday by Wilmer Ballou, minister of the River Park Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Rae-Porter Cemetery near Lakeville.
