SOUTH BEND – Anthony “Tony” DeBlase, 22, of 1010 E. Jefferson Boulevard, died at 4:50 o’clock this morning in St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka of a fractured skull, suffered when the automobile he was driving was struck by a westbound Grand Trunk Western passenger train at Liberty Drive, Mishawaka, shortly before 7 o’clock Sunday evening.  He celebrated his 22nd birthday on the day of the accident. He was born Jan. 13, 1913 in Lake Geneva, Wis., and had lived in South Bend nearly all his life. He is survived by 12 brothers and sisters, besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Steve DeBlase, all of South Bend. They are Ed, Mike, Sam, Gus, Frank, Christine, Joe Steve Jr., Katherine, Mary, Anna and Santina.

Funeral services for Tony DeBlase, of 1010 E. Jefferson Boulevard,  will be conducted at 9 o’clock Thursday morning from St. Joseph Roman Catholic  Church. Rev. J. J. O’Rourke CSC, pastor will read the requiem mass ands internment will be in Highland Cemetery The body will be in the residenc until the hour of the services.
