MISHAWAKA - Alberta Luciel Deeds, 84,
of Countryside Place, died at 7:07 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph
Hospital. Mrs. Deeds was born May 18, 1911, in St. Joseph County
and was a lifelong resident.
On March 14, 1927, in Buchanan, as Alberta
Luciel Dover, she married Arthur William Deeds. He died
July 26, 1979. Surviving are a daughter, Betty Damewood of
South Bend; three sons, Edward E. of Denver, Arthur N. of
Rochester and Jerry of Mishawaka; 23 grandchildren; several
great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; five
sisters, Anita Williams of Hartford, Irene Higbee
of South Bend, Helen Ott of Coloma, Lorraine Robbins
of New Troy, and Bertha Mae Shaw of Sodus; and a brother,
Thomas Dover of Bridgman. A daughter, Gladys Deeds, and two sons,
Donald E. and William F., all preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday
in the Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend. Cremation
will take place. Friends may call one-half hour prior to services
in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to
American Cancer Society.
