Virginia R. De Geyter

July 28, 1926 -- Feb. 11, 2005

                                       

Virginia Rose De Geyter, 78, of West 6th St., Mishawaka, died at 2:10 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2005 in Fountainview Place in Mishawaka of natural causes.

Virginia was born July 28, 1926, in St. Joseph County, IN, to Cyreal and Helen (Kline) Bokhart. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Louise Rice and Alice DiRocco; and two brothers, August and Irvin C. Bokhart.

On November 13, 1948 in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, she married the love of her life, Morris G. De Geyter. He survives, along with four daughters, Cecilia (Dr. Jack) Wehrly of Fort Wayne, IN; Christine (Jeff) Dunnwoody of Greenwood, SC, Carolyn (Max) Durrett of Moncks Corner, SC, and Mary Grace (Rick) Stephens of South Bend, IN; six sons, Morris (Peggy) De Geyter Jr. of South Bend, IN, Mark (Sheila) De Geyter of Niles, MI, Martin (Debbie) De Geyter of Osceola, IN, Matt (Trisha) De Geyter of Mishawaka, IN, Michael De Geyter of Mishawaka, and Mitchell (Shelley) De Geyter of Melbourne, FL; 17 grandchildren, Sara, John, Audrey, Brad, Jennifer, Karen, Adam, Olivia, Zach, Angela, Rebecca, Raschelle, Christopher, Jennifer, Matthew, Brandon and Keaton; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor and one sister, Josephine Wachs of Osceola, IN.

Friends of Virginia may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, where the rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Bavo's Catholic Church with the Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN.

Virginia worked at Indiana Bell and also worked for 14 years at the Florence Café on Spring St., and then late at Jeno's Italian Restaurant. She also was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Virginia also was a member of the F.O.P. Ladies Auxiliary and was also a past member of the BK Club, Ladies Auxiliary. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed dearly, but never forgotten.

Memorial donations in memory of Virginia may be made to St. Bavo's Catholic Church.
