SOUTH BEND – Miss Beatrice DeGrotte, 72, of the LaSalle Motor Inn died at 4:20 p.m. in St. Joseph Hospital after an illness of six months. She was employed for many years by the Uniroyal Company in Mishawaka, retiring in 1959. She was born June 19, 1900 in Mishawaka and had lived in the area all her life.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. William Singer and two nieces, Mrs. Henry Vankempen and Mrs. Leon Vandygriff, all of South Bend.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Welscheimer Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of which she was a member, with Ref. Richard Kennedy CSC, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Mishawaka. A parish rosary will be recited t 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral Home.
