Harold Deitchley

MISHAWAKA - Harold ''Dutch'' Deitchley, 68, of Lincoln Way East, died at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday in his home after an illness. Mr. Deitchley retired from the Mishawaka Fire Department in 1972 and from Brink's in 1986. He was born May 31, 1927, in Mishawaka.

 

On Aug. 1, 1953, in Mishawaka, he married Dorothy Misner. She survives with a son, Kenneth of South Bend; two grandchildren; a sister, Marcella Baldwin of Mishawaka; and two brothers, John and Robert, both of South Bend. A daughter, Barbara Deitchley, died in 1966.

 

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, American Legion Post 161, Retired Firefighters Association, St. Joseph Catholic Church, and former Volkskring Club.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where the parish rosary will be said at 3 p.m.
