South Bend Tribune, Sunday Morning, Mishawaka Obituaries; January 28, 1951.

George R. DeLong, aged 63, of rural route No. 1, Dragoon Road, died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in his home.  He had been ill for four years.  Mr. DeLong was born in Three Rivers, Mich., and had lived in this vicinity for 55 years.

Mr. DeLong was a steam shovel operator for the Reed Construction company for several years.  Surviving are his brother, Orin A. DeLong, of Mishawaka and four sisters, Mrs. Walter Forsberg and Mrs. Earl Gordon, of South Bend, Mrs. Milo Anglin, with whom he lived, and Mrs. Ferdinand Martin of El Monte, Calif.  He was a veteran of World War I and a member of River Park post No. 303, American Legion and the Philanthropical Social League.

Friends may call in the Bubb chapel after noon today and until the funeral services there at 2 p.m. Tuesday.  Rev B. R. Lake, pastor of the River Park Free Methodist Church, South Bend, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Funeral Services for George R. DeLong, aged 63, of rural route No. 1, Dragoon Road, who died Saturday in his home, were held at 2 p.m. today in the Bubb Chapel, Rev. B. R. Lake of the River Park Free Methodist Chuch officiated and burial was in Fairview

Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Walter Forsberg, Earl Gordon, Milo Anglin, Virgil Houck, Richard DeLong and Robert Anglin.  Members of River Park post No. 303, American Legion conducted military rites at the grave.
