Mrs. Rita “Booshie” DeLong, age 70, of Whitehall MI, died January 20, 2007. Born September 30, 1936, in South Bend, IN, to Stanley and Cecelia (Nowastowski) Bryda, she had lived in the White Lake area the past years since 1987.

 

In 1958, she married Leroy Ranschaert, who preceded her in death in 1969. In 1973, she married Carl DeLong, who preceded her in death in 1980. Mrs. DeLong had worked as a cook at Lincoln Golf Course and was a member of Algot Johnson American Legion Post #69 Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Ranschaert. FAMILY: A daughter, Brenda (Pride) Kirwin of Rothbury; grandchildren, Joy Kirwin and Katie Kirwin, both of Rothbury, and Justin Kirwin and Kyle Kirwin, both of Montague, Andrea Flanery of Ludington and Ryan Frees of Hesperia; great-grandchild, Devon Flanery of Ludington; a sister, Lorraine (Carl) Winkel of South Bend, IN; nieces and nephews; special friend, Dave Wiggers.

 

MEMORIAL GATHERING: Saturday, January 27, 2007, beginning at 1:00 PM, at Algot Johnson American Legion Post #69, 803 E. Colby St., Whitehall. DONATIONS: Muskegon-Oceana Chapter American Red Cross, 313 W. Webster Ave., Muskegon 49440. CLOCK - White Lake

SOUTH BEND -- Rita "Booshie" Ranshaert, 70, of Whitehall, MI, formerly of South Bend, died Saturday, Jan. 20. Born September 30, 1936, in South Bend, to Stanley and Cecilia (Nowastowski) Bryda, she had lived in the Whitehall area the past years since 1987.

 

In 1958 she married Leroy Ranshaert, who preceded her in death in 1969. In 1973 she married Carl DeLong, who preceded her in death in 1980. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Ranshaert.

 

Mrs. Delong had worked as a cook at Lincoln Golf Course in Muskegon and was a member of Algot Johnson American Legion Post #69 Auxiliary.

 

Surviving family are a daughter, Brenda (Pride) Kirwin of Rothbury; grandchildren, Joy Kirwin and Katie Kirwin, both of Rothbury, and Justin Kirwin and Kyle Kirwin, both of Montague, Andrea Flanery of Ludington and Ryan Frees of Hesperia; a great-grandchild, Devon Flanery of Ludington; a sister, Lorraine (Carl) Winkel of South Bend; nieces and nephews, and special friend, Dave Wiggers.

 

Memorial gathering will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, in Algot Johnson American Legion Post #69, 803 E. Colby St., Whitehall. Memorial donations may be made to Muskegon-Oceana Chapter American Red Cross, 313 W. Webster Ave., Muskegon, MI 49440. Clock Funeral Home, Whitehall, is handling arrangements.
