SOUTH BEND - Anna M. DeMeulenaere, 96, of 1121 E. LaSalle, died Saturday at Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

 

Survivors include two daughters, Marie Leddy and Irene Taylor, both of South Bend.

 

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hahn Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Anna Marie De Paepe, the youngest of nine, was born in Lovendegem, Belgium on Aug. 22, 1900, and died at 1:45 a.m., Jan. 18, 1997. On Feb. 26, 1921, in Evergem, Belgium, Anna married Frank Maurice De Meulenaere, who preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 1973. Anna and Frank had four children: Rene, who died in Belgium at 6 weeks of age; Phil Joseph of Niles, who died on Aug. 10, 1992, Marie Irene Leddy of South Bend, and Irene Marie Taylor of Mishawaka. Frank and Anna had 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

 

Anna worked at Notre Dame and Frank retired from Studebaker. Later they helped Marie and Irene at the Potpourri.

 

Viewing will be at the Hahn Funeral Home in Mishawaka on Sunday, Jan. 19, from 2 until 6 p.m. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, at the Hahn Funeral Home. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery.
