Richard De Meulenaere

July 19, 1933 - Sept. 14, 1998

Richard De Meulenaere, 65, formerly of West 13th Street in Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 12:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 14th, in St. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka.

Mr. De Meulenaere was born on July 19, 1933, in Mishawaka, as the son of the late Leon J. and Martha L. (Audenaert) De Meulenaere. He was a lifetime area resident.

Mr. De Meulenaere is survived by three daughters, Kory (Mike) Stanage of Mishawaka, Kathy Strombeck of Osceola, Ind., and Kim (Dave) Gaut of Port Charlotte, Fla.; a son, Kirk (Nancy) De Meulenaere of Mishawaka; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Michael and Katie De Meulenaere, Brannigan Benson, Christy Strombeck, Mandy Musso, Shannon and Samantha Gaut; and by a step-granddaughter, Jennifer Stanage, and two great-grandchildren, Peytone Musso and Brennan Strombeck.

Mr. De Meulenaere was employed by Wheel-A-Brater Fry until his time of employment at Dodge Manufacturing, from where he retired.

Mr. De Meulenaere was a United States Marine Corps veteran and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a past member of the B-K Club in Mishawaka.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18th, in Fairview Cemetery. Rev. James Shafer of St. Bavo's Church will officiate.

The Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. Eighth Street, Mishawaka, is handling arrangements.
