Brother Aloysius Dempsey CSC

Dec. 27, 1877 – Oct. 5, 1944

Services were held at 8 a.m. today in Swacred Heart Church on the University of Notre Dame Campus, for Brother Aloysius CSC, 66, porter of the door at Corby Hall, Notre Dame, for the last four years, who died in the community infirmary Thursday morning. Burial was in Community Cemetery.

 

Brother Aloysius was born as David Dempsey in Croagh County, Limerick, Ireland, Dec 27, 1877, and entered the postulate May 6, 1896. He received the habit Aug. 5, 1896, and was professed July 30, 1903. For a number of years he acted as prefect in Carroll Hall, on the campus.
