MISHAWAKA - Margaret M. DeRaeve, 87,
of Ninth Street, died at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday in her home. Mrs.
DeRaeve retired in 1965 from Garrett's Restaurant after 11 years
of service. She was born Oct. 4, 1908, in Croswell, Mich., and
had lived in Mishawaka since 1924.
On June 19, 1926, in Mishawaka, as Margaret
M. Persyn, she married Francis DeRaeve. He died July 17,
1975. She is survived by a daughter, Jean Wagner of Plant
City, Fla.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two
sisters, Rose Wagner of South Bend and Elsie De Cook
of Mishawaka; and a brother, Christopher Persyn of Mishawaka. A
son, Donald, died in 1983. She was a member of St. Bavo's
Catholic Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the
church. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park
Mausoleum, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in
Hahn Funeral Home, where a wake will be at 7 p.m. Memorial
contributions may be made to the church or Hospice of St. Joseph
County Inc.
