Charles Derbin

MISHAWAKA - Charles “Chic” Derbin, 68, of 2315 Homewood Avenue, died Tuesday night in Memorial Hospital in South Bend. He was born Dec. 29, 1915 in Mishawaka and remained a lifetime resident. He was a self-employed carpenter. In 1948, in Mishawaka, he married Elsie Mae Currier, who died in 1965. He married Geoegette DeKegelaer in Mishawaka on Dec. 8, 1972, and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Carol Derbin and Linda Derbin, at home; two sons, Gary of Mishawaka and Mark of South Bend; a stepdaughter and a stepson; a grandchild; a sister, Ann Marchi, and a brother, Michael of Mishawaka. Another brother, John Derbin died in 1981.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in East United Methodist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, and from 10 a.m. until services Friday in the church.
