Mary E. DeRoo

Sept. 25, 1911 - Dec. 26, 1999

Mary E. DeRoo, 88, of West Sixth Street, Mishawaka, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999 at 8:45 a.m. in Fountainview Place, Mishawaka, after an illness. Mrs. DeRoo was born on Sept. 25, 1911 in Mishawaka, as the daughter of the late Odilon and Elodie (Meersman) Stuart. On Oct. 19, 1935 in St. Bavo's Catholic Church in Mishawaka, as the former Mary Stuart, she married Edmund DeRoo who preceded her in death on June 26, 1974.

Mrs. DeRoo is survived by a son, Larry (Carol) DeRoo of Niles, Mich.; two grandchildren, Chris (Becky) DeRoo of Chesterfield Township, Mich. and Barb DeRoo of Mishawaka; three great-grandchildren, Tony, Jared and Alexandria DeRoo; and a sister, Madeline Delp of Edwardsburg, Mich.

Mrs. DeRoo was employed by Uniroyal in Mishawaka for 38 years before retiring in 1968. She was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, the Therisan's, the B-K Club Ladies Auxiliary in Mishawaka and a member of the Queen of Peace Harvest Club.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 28, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. Eighth St., Mishawaka.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Derrick Sneyd officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
