Batiste DeSimone

Mishawaka - Batiste DeSimone, 68, of 213 E. Broadway, died about 1:30 a.m. today in St. Joseph Hospital where he was taken an hour earlier by police in the city ambulance after he had collapsed in his home.

 

He was born Aug. 13, 1906 in Fairmount W.Va., and had lived here since 1941, having come from Dearborn, Mich.

 

On Oct. 30, 1936, in Mishawaka, he married Catherine E. Perri, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Samuel and Joseph both of Mishawaka, and John of South Bend, and four grandchildren.

 

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Sunday and all day Monday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home. DeSimone was a member of St. Monica’s Church, the Diloreto Club and the DeAmicis Club.

Services for Bastiste DeSimone, 68, of 213 E. Broadway, who died Saturday in St. Joseph Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Monica’s Catholic Church. Rev. William Gieranowski, pastor, will officiate, and burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home
