Phyllis Jean DeVos (nee Karns), age 62, passed away at home in Elk Grove Village, IL, on July 23rd, 2000. Beloved wife of Paul Wm. DeVos (39 years); cherished mother of Paul Wm. (Billy) DeVos II; devoted sister of Anne Marie Miltenberger; and loving aunt of Mark and Mike Miltenberger.

Phyllis was born in South Bend and grew up in Sumnerville, MI, was a graduate of Niles High School, and attended Indiana University. At the time of her passing she was President of DeVos and Associates, after a series of accounting and office management positions throughout the Chicagoland area. During her seventeen years spent in the Buchanan area she was active in Eastern Star, MYF, Leader Dogs for the Blind, and various school, community, and sporting activities. An avid traveler, she enjoyed her experiences in Brazil, France, Ireland, England, Spain and the Caribbean Islands.

Words cannot describe our loss, made more bearable by the support of an endless list of friends who share our wonderful memories of Phyllis. A kinder, more caring person was never put on this earth, as those who benefited from her warmth will attest. A great soul has passed from among us and will be forever missed. Services. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public services.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 566, South Bend, IN 46624-0566.

Arrangements made by Cremation Society of Illinois. (847/577-6505)

Editor: Her maiden name was Phyllis Jean Karns.
