Anna Marie DeVreese

SOUTH BEND – Mrs. Anna M. DeVreese, 76, of 317 E. Irvington Avenue, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Hospital after a brief illness. She was born June 6, 1896 in South Bend and had lived here all her life.

 

As Anna M. Kruk, on June 21, 1916, she married to Daniel F. Devreese Sr., who survives, along with a son Daniel F. Jr.; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Hartz and Mrs. Elinor J. Andrejewski, both of South Bend; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Valentine Kruk of Edwardsburg and James of Niles.

 

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home. Mrs. DeVreese was a member of the Rosary and Altar Society of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church and served as Democratic committeewoman for 10 years. She was also a member of the South Side Democratic Committee and the St. Joseph County Women.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Matthew’s Catholic Cathedral for Mrs. Anna M. DeVreese, 76, of 317 E. Irvington Avenue, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
