MISHAWAKA - Basiel
DeVreese, 90, of 801 Sixth Street, died Monday evening in St.
Joseph Hospital. He had been ill two-days. He was born Sept. 30,
1886 in Hansbeke, Belgium, and came to Mishawaka from Belgium in
1906. He retired from Uniroyal in 1951 after 45 years of service.
He married Leontine
Nieuwlandt in Sacred Heart Church at Notre Dame on June 11, 1913,
She survives along with; a daughter, Mrs. Omer Stevens of
Valparaiso; two sons, Emiel A. and Julius A., both of Mishawaka;
six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the DeVos Funeral Chapel. Services will be
Thursday mornin in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church and burial
will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
