Julius A. De Vreese

Nov. 19, 1921 - Feb. 15, 1999

Julius A. De Vreese, 77, of Union Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 1:15 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 15, in his residence.

Mr. De Vreese was born on Nov. 19, 1921, in Mishawaka, as the son of the late Basiel and Leontine (Nieuwlandt) De Vreese. He was a lifelong area resident.

On June 22, 1946, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, he married the former Catherine Bokhart, who survives.

He is also survived by their children: two daughters, Lois (Al) Marks of Kouts, Ind., and Mary (George) Weil of South Bend, Ind.; and a son, Donald (Janice) De Vreese of Lafayette, Ind.; six grandchildren, Jennifer Marks, Scott Marks, Kimberly Weil, Matthew Weil, Heath De Vreese and Hillary De Vreese; a sister, Valeria Stevens of Valparaiso; and by a brother, Emile De Vreese of Mishawaka.

Mr. De Vreese was employed by the former White Farm Equipment Company in South Bend as a superintendent for 36 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, as well as a member of the K. of C. #1878, Mishawaka.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Robert Yast officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
