SOUTH BEND - Sister M. Josephine Rosaire Dewey, CSC, 89, of Saint Mary's Convent, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday in her residence.

 

Sister M. Josephine entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Feb. 14, 1928, coming from Lake Forest, Ill.; was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1928; and professed her vows on Aug. 15, 1930. She was assigned to elementary teaching in Texas, Illinois, Michigan, and in Valparaiso, Michigan City, East Chicago, Anderson, Elkhart, and St. Joseph Schools in South Bend. She was born Nov. 11, 1906, in Lake Forest, Ill., as Mary Catherine Dewey. She is survived by a sister, Helen McHugh of Oak Brook, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Church of Loretto, Saint Mary's. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Saint Mary's. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday in the church, where a wake will be at 7 p.m. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
