Robert L. Dickey, 74, of South Bend, Ind., passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Robert was born on Jan. 5, 1927, in Niles, Mich., to the late Arthur P. and Doris (McGowan) Dickey. He retired from the former Bendix Corporation in 1986 after 43 years of employment.

On July 2, 1966, he married Juanita (Bryant) Davenport, who survives. He is also survived by two sons, Robert L. Dickey and Kevin M. Dickey, both of South Bend; one stepdaughter, Margaret Meyer of Peoria, Ill.; one stepson, C.W. Davenport of Grand Rapids, Mich.; one granddaughter, Tara (Jamie) Grubb of Peoria, Ill.; two grandsons, Patrick (Megan) Meyer of Peoria and Shawn Freese of South Bend; and by three great-grandchildren. Mr. Dickey was a World War II Army veteran, a member of American Legion Post 50, and a member of VFW Post 624.
