Virginia B. Dickey

SOUTH BEND - Virginia B. Dickey, 78, of Whitcomb Avenue, died Sunday in Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center after an illness. Mrs. Dickey retired in 1978 from J.C. Penney Co. after 20 years of service as a saleswoman. She was born March 8, 1916, in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident.

 

On June 15, 1935, as Virginia Moon, she married Arthur W. Dickey. He survives with two daughters, Kay Dreibelbis of South Bend and Sandra Hakes of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Ludwig of South Bend and Marguerite Hawblitzel of Palm Harbor, Fla.; and three brothers, Cecil Moon of South Bend, Kermit Moon of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and Patrick Moon of Spencer, Iowa. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

 

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and a half-hour before services Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
