Sister M. Cecil Didier CSC

The requiem high mass for Sister M. Cecil CSC, 94, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, who died Wednesday in Saint Mary’s Convent, will be offered in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Mary’s at 6 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus.

 

She was born Flora Olympia Didier in Fort Wayne in 1869 and educated there at Sacred Heart Academy. She entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1889, receiving the habit that same year, and making her profession of final vows in 1895. During her community life, she taught in Utah, Iowa, Virginia, Maryland and Washington. She also was stationed for a time at Valparaiso, and served at St. Joseph Academy in South Bend. She was a teacher at St. Mary’s Academy. Friends may call in the convent parlor.
