MISHAWAKA -- Rose DiGirolamo, 100, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, formerly of River Park, died at 12:17 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 25, 2005) at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

She was born Nov. 16, 1904, in New York City, to Carmelo and Maria (Cannazzaro) Blanda.

 

She married Frank DiGirolamo on Feb. 18, 1923, in Boston. He died Jan. 5, 1979. She is survived by two daughters, Beatrice Fardulis of Elkhart and Rosemary (Ron) DePastine of Granger; one daughter-in-law, Norma DiGirolamo of Mishawaka; one son, Joseph (Dottie) DiGirolamo of Mishawaka; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Florence Lopez and Annie Maceiwz, both of Boston. She was preceded in death by one son, Carmelo DiGirolamo, who died in 2003; and nine siblings.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, where services will be at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.

 

Mrs. DiGirolamo retired from the former Ball Band Corp. in Mishawaka after many years of service. She was a member of Prince of Peace Church of the Brethren, South Bend.
