Rocco P. DiLorenzo

Dec. 9, 1942 - Nov. 28, 2001

Rocco P. DiLorenzo, 58, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away at home in Fort Myers, Fla., on Wednesday, November 28, of an extended illness.

Rocco was born on December 9, 1942, in Bronx, N.Y., to the late Nicholas and Josephine (Zerbo) DiLorenzo, and had lived in South Bend since 1976, coming from N.Y., and moving to Florida in 1992.

Rocco owned Absolute Pest Control and was an active member of the South Bend - Mishawaka and Elkhart Board of Realtors, Tip Club, National Pest Control Association, Apartment Associations, and many more organizations. He enjoyed playing and coaching softball. He coached his daughter's softball teams for several years.

Moving to Florida in 1992, he owned Ace Pest Control and was active with Fort Myers - Cape Coral and Naples Board of Realtors, Fort Myers and Naples Apartment Association, Italian - American Club and National Pest Control Association. In 1998, Rocco ran for City Council of Cape Coral.

On May 8, 1982, in South Bend, he married Barbara Basham, whom he leaves to cherish his memory.

Rocco DiLorenzo was the most loving and devoted papa, dad and husband. He cared deeply for his family and friends, and approached life with a lot of humor and integrity. Rocco enriched many lives during his time here and he will be enormously missed.

Along with his beloved wife to cherish his memory he has four loving and devoted daughters, Angela DiLorenzo - Devereux of Fort Myers, Gianna DiLorenzo - Rozzi of Fort Myers, Michele Barrett of South Bend, and Katie Dodson of Mishawaka; three wonderful sons-in-law, Rick Devereux of Fort Myers, John Rozzi of Fort Myers and Ed Dodson of Mishawaka; three terrific grandsons, Ricky Devereux of Fort Myers, Nicholas Rozzi of Fort Myers and Grey Barrett of South Bend.

Services were held on Monday Dec. 3, in the Harvey-Englehardt Chapel, Fort Myers.
