Margaret Dineen

Margaret Carney Dineen, 81, passed away after a long illness on Friday, April 7, in Jacksonville, Fla.

Margaret lived in South Bend, Ind., for over 40 years, and was a member of Holy Cross and St. Joseph's Catholic Churches. She was born near Manannah, Minn., on July 12, 1918, and received her B.E. in education at St. Cloud State University.

 

Margaret married Clarence Dineen of DeGraff, Minn., on July 17, 1943. In 1967 she earned an M.B.A. at the University of Notre Dame. She was a professor at St. Mary's College until her retirement in 1990.

 

Margaret is survived by her husband of 56 years, Clarence Dineen; a son, Jim (Jeanine) Dineen of Jacksonville, Fla.; her daughters, Diane (Patrick) Pacella of Toledo, Ohio, Margot (Michael) Strother of Lexington, Ky., and Mary Kay (Steward Wetchler) Dineen of Williamsburg, Va.; and by 10 grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 10, in the Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road. A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, South Bend, where a Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Interment will be in Cedar Grove on the University of Notre Dame campus.
