Mary Louise Dockery

SOUTH BEND - Ms. Mary Louise Dockery, 54, who resided on West Ford Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an extended illness at 5:02 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18, at St. Joseph's Medical Center. On April 25, 1944, she was born in De-Sota County, Miss., to the union of Emma Lee (Bruce) and Doc Dockery. She had lived in South Bend since 1968, coming from Memphis, Tenn. She had been employed as a laundry assistant at the Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of the New Life Bible Baptist Church. Ms. Dockery leaves to cherish her many loving memories three daughters, Linda Davis and Gloria Dockery, both of South Bend, and Margaret (Richard) Hamlin of Denver, Colo.; a son, Sylvester Dockery of South Bend; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Munn, Annie Ruth Dockery and Betty Gene Bell; a brother, J.C. Dockery, all of Memphis; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lonnie Dockery.

 

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, Oct. 23, at the New Life Bible Baptist Church, 2301 W. Dubail, South Bend, with burial following at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Alford's Mortuary. Alford's Mortuary is in charge of handling arrangements.
