Eva May Donathen

 

Feb. 5, 1919 - Aug. 2, 2004

 

Eva May Donathen, 85, of Lake Trail, Lakeville, Ind., passed away at 9:43 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, in Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, Ind. She was born on Feb. 5, 1919, in Hicksville, Ohio, to the late James M. and Naomi E. (Humbarger) Walters.

 

On Nov. 19, 1938, in Lakeville, as the former Eva Walters, she married Adam O. Donathen, who passed away on Feb. 1, 1963. She was also preceded in death by one son, Timmey N. Donathen; two great-granddaughters, Rochelle Wilkinson and Alexandria Chartrand; and by six brothers, Luther, Forrest, Gary, Paul, John and Harvey Walters. Survivors include one daughter, Darlene Jablonski of South Bend, Ind.; two sons, Lynn (Barb) Donathen and Dan (LaRuth) Donathen, both of Bremen, Ind.; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Doris (Bob) Holdeman of South Carolina, Ruth (Gene) Pehling of South Bend, Rebecca (Don) Wooley of Arizona and Freda Richards of Arizona.

 

Eva had been an area resident for most of her life. She retired from Ristance Corp., and attended North Liberty Church of Christ.

 

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St., Lakeville. Tim Stewart, pastor of North Liberty Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, in the funeral home.
