Brother Xavier Donoghue CSC

Brother Xavier Donoghue, CSC, 68, died Friday morning in Holy Trinity High School, Chicago. He was born in My. Pleasant, Mich., Sept. 20, 1890, and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1926. In 1935 he received his master of science degree from Notre Dame. Brother Xavier entered the St. Joseph novitiate at Notre Dame, Jan. 26, 1914, and took his first vows Jan. 6, 1916. He took his final vows March 19, 1919. He taught at Holy Trinity High School from 1926 to 1934 and from 1943 until his death. He also taught at New Orleans, la., Albany, NY, and Fort Wayne.

 

Friends may call after 1 p.m. at Columbia Hall, Notre Dame. The Office of the Dead will be at 5 p.m. Sunday in Sacred Heart Church, Notre Dame, and the funeral mass will be there at 9 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Community Cemetery. Brother Donoghue is survived by two sisters, Mrs.A. A. Lubunski of Wyandotte, Mich., and Miss Helen Donoghue of Ionia, Mich.
