Becky Ann Donovan

Becky Ann Donovan, 52, of Butternut Road, South Bend, Ind., died at 2:12 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, in her home. She was born on July 4, 1950, to Arthur J. Knapp and Ruth F. (Jozwiak) Knapp, who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Shelly, and a brother, Tommy.

 

On April 4, 1970, she married James M. Donovan, who survives her. She is also survived by one daughter, Heather Donovan of South Bend; and one son, Joseph Donovan, also of South Bend. Becky is survived by three sisters, Karen Deis of Hudson, Wis., Charlene Reyes of South Bend and Tammy Scott, also of South Bend; three brothers, Bill Knapp of South Bend, Randy Knapp of South Bend and Ronnie Knapp of South Bend; and by special sisters-in-law, Cyndee Knapp, Sue Knapp and Leanne Knapp.

 

Becky had a long successful business career in which she shared ownership in Cornerstone Mortgage with her sister, Karen. Her next endeavor was to pursue her love of gardening with her husband Jim when they opened Five Point Gardens in 2001. She became a master gardener and loved to help others with their interest in gardening. She also had many other hobbies including cooking, traveling, and relaxing with a good book. Her favorite thing on Sunday morning was to make cookies for her kids. She was a wonderful mom, loving wife, and was very supportive to her brothers and sisters, as well as anyone in need of advice or a kind word.

 

Friends and family may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 19, in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A Rosary will be said at 4:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
