Michael J. Donovan

Feb. 1, 1945 - Feb. 16, 2001

Michael J. Donovan, 56, of 2714 S. Main St., South Bend, passed away at 9:05 p.m. on Friday in Memorial Hospital. He was born on Feb. 1, 1945, in Logansport, Ind., and had lived in South Bend most of his life.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy J. (Gresk) Arelt and stepfather, Daniel K. Arelt of LaFeria, Texas; his stepmother, Joann Donovan of South Bend; a daughter, Dawn (James) Starling of Lake Ridge, Va.; a son, Jeff Donovan, of Silver Springs, Md.; a grandchild, Tyler Starling; his twin sister, Patricia Noffsinger (Miles Lockwitz) of South Bend; a niece, Tina Noffsinger and her fiance Donald O'Brien of South Bend; and a nephew, Lee Noffsinger and his fiancee, Kathy Small of Marion, Ind.

Mr. Donovan was preceded in death by his father, Raymond J. Donovan on Feb. 5, 1997.

Mr. Donovan was a Radio Operator with the U.S. Navy for 21 years, a veteran of the Navy and a member of the American Legion Post 357.

Family and friends may call at ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road on Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 2 to 8 p.m. Services will be held there on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. A wake service will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
