Services for Rev. Eugene L. Dore CSC, 74, of Austin, Texas, formerly of South Bend, who died at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday in Seton Hospital in Austin, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Ignatius Catholic Church, where a wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery in Austin.

He was retired as pastor at St. Ignatius. He was born Oct. 6, 1913 in Chicago. He entered the Holy Cross Seminary and graduated from the University of Notre Dame 1938; completed theological studies in Washington; and was ordained a priest in 1942.He then served for three years as associate pastor at St. Joseph Catholic Church in South Bend. In 1945 he was assigned to Lampasas, Texas, where he was pastor of St. Mary’s Parish and several mission churches in the region, and from 1949 to 1968 he served as pastor of St. Ignatius. From 1968 to 1977 he served in New Orleans at Sacred Heart parish and Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent. In 1977 he returned to St. Ignatius and ministered there until his retirement.
