Lucian P. Dosmann

April 10, 1917 - April 26, 1997

Lucian P. Dosmann, 80, of Pickwick Lane, South Bend, died Saturday evening in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an extended illness.

Mr. Dosmann was born April 10, 1917, in Mishawaka, Ind., to John and Edith Dosmann and was a lifelong area resident. On Aug. 22, 1942, in Notre Dame, Ind., he married the former Margery J. Doherty who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Paula Dambrauskas of Richmond, Va. and Barbara Kahn of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, a son, Phillip Dosmann of Milwaukee, Wis.; seven grandchildren; and three brothers, Robert of South Bend, Charles of Mishawaka and James of Springfield, Ill. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother and a granddaughter.

Mr. Dosmann, a senior research scientist, retired from Uniroyal in 1981, after 39 years of service. He attended the University of Notre Dame. During retirement, Mr. Dosmann was involved in numerous volunteer organizations.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where there will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church with cremation to follow and burial at a later date.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Dosmann's behalf to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
