Robert J. Dosmann

SOUTH BEND - Robert J. Dosmann, 79, of Edgewater Drive, passed away at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24th in his residence. He was born on January 31, 1919 in Mishawaka, IN, and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Dosmann retired as a machinist with South Bend Lathe Works after over 40 years of employment.

On June 30, 1942 in St. Monica Catholic Church, Mishawaka, IN, he married Helen Matthews, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Ann (Douglas) Kaiser of Glenview, IL, Patricia (David) Carroll of Austinville, VA, Julie (David) Ebert of LaPorte, IN; five sons, Robert (Carol) Jr. of Littleton, CO, Donald of South Bend, IN, Steven (Bonnie) of LaGrange, IL, Roger (Connie) of Granger, IN, and Gregory of South Bend, IN; eighteen grandchildren, Todd Dosmann, Tracy Dosmann, Corey Dosmann, Maggie Dosmann, Katie Dosmann, Megan Dosmann, Nick Dosmann, Mandy Dosmann, Gregory Dosmann, Allison Dosmann, Ryan Kaiser, Kevin Kaiser, Jessica Ebert, Drew Ebert, Carissa Ebert, Jesse Rose Carroll, Paul Carroll, and Tim Dosmann; one great granddaughter, Brianna Dosmann; two brothers, Charles Dosmann of Mishawaka, IN and James Dosmann of Springfield, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edith (Arnold) Dosmann; a son, Jack Dosmann (1976); two sisters, Sister Madeline Dosmann, Dorothy Miller; and two brothers, Joseph and Lucian Dosmann.

Mr. Dosmann was a World War II Army 472nd Field Artillery Veteran. He also attained the rank of Eagle Scout and continued his interest in scouting in Sea Scouts in the Boy Scouts of America Organization, Mishawaka, IN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 26th at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 25th in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a Rosary was recited at 5:30 p.m.
