Arvilla Dowling

December 17, 1911 – July 15, 1964

 

Arvilla Dowling, 52, of 127 E Paris St., a former Studebaker employee, was found dead in his apartment about 6pm Wednesday.  According to Dr. Edward S. Shelley, St Joseph County Coroner, death was due to natural causes.

 

Born in White County on December 17, 1911, he moved to South Bend from Rochester in 1945.  He was a veteran of WW II and a member of Post 303, American Legion.  He is survived by four daughters, Sandra Marie of South Bend and Melinda, Helen Juanita and Katy Lee, all of Mishawaka; three sons, Gene and Richard, both of Oklahoma City OK and Rudy, in the US Marine Corps; seven grandchildren; a brother, Oren, of Mishawaka, and four sisters, Mrs. Helen Wade of South Bend, Mrs. Ruth Fleming of Auburndale FL, Mrs. Flora Whitson of Borten IN, and Mrs. Icelene Wade of Wabash.
