Mrs. Bessie M. Downey

December 25, 1898 – December 14, 1972

Mrs. Bessie Mae Downey, 73, of 2106 S. Leer St., died at 4pm Thursday in Memorial Hospital.  She had been in failing health six months.

She was born on December 25, 1898, in Hox.  Surviving are a son, Richard of South Bend; five daughters, Mrs. Alzenia LaBour of Chicago, Mrs. Gladys Robinson of Garrett, Mrs. Garnett Charles of Walkerton, Mrs. Wanetta Stanton, and Mrs Lenora Taylor, both of South Bend; eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Private funeral services will be held at 1:30pm C.S.T. Saturday in Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet, with burial in Fletcher Cemetery, Hamlet.  Friends may call after 6pm C.S.T. Friday in the funeral home.
