Joan Hinds Droom

SOUTH BEND - Joan Hinds Droom, 72, of Miami Springs, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in DeKalb Medical Center, Decatur, Ga.

Mrs. Droom was born June 29, 1923, in South Bend. Her husband, David Droom, died in 1993. She is survived by two daughters, Allison Goodman of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Susan Lemonds of Charlotte, N.C.; a son, Matthew Wilder of West Booth Bay, Maine; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Hinds of South Bend. A son, Cliff Wilder, died July 9, 1991.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Entombment will be in Highland Mausoleum. Friends may call one hour before services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
