Sister Mary Magdalene CSC, former dean of St. Mary’s College died at 1:45 a.m. today in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, after an illness of two years. She was born as Lillian Duddy and was professed into Holy Cross Order in 1923. She received her holy habit in 1918. In addition to her work at St. Mary’s College, she had been a superior at Sacred Heart Academy, Ogden, Utah, and St. Catherine’s Academy, Ventura, Calif. Before her illness she was a teacher at St. Agnes Academy, Los Angeles. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s College. She is survived by a brother, Most Rev. Charles F. Duddy D. D. of San Diego, Calif.

 

Funeral services will be at the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception at Holy Cross Friday morning. Bishop Duddy, her brother, will conduct services and burial will be in Holy Cross Community Cemetery.
