Albert E. Dudeck

Albert E. "Al" Dudeck, 74, of Lucille Avenue in South Bend, IN, passed away at 3:50 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2005, in his home, following a brief illness. He was born on October 14, 1930, to the late Albert A. and Margaret A. (Zellers) Dudeck in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. One son, Ronald E. Dudeck, and one godchild, Michelle Dudeck, also preceded him in death. Mr. Dudeck retired on March 28, 1991, from Uniroyal after 37 years of employment. He had worked in the Fuel Cell Department No. 275.

 

On December 13, 1953, he married Shirley A. Bice in Mishawaka, IN. She survives. Along with his wife of 51 years, he is survived by one daughter, Debbie (Dave) Reed of South Bend, IN; one son, Jerry (Linda Giles) Dudeck of South Bend, IN; four grandchildren, Neil Kelly of South Bend, IN, Chris Kelly of Tampa, FL, John and Nick Dudeck, both of South Bend, IN; and also three children of Linda Giles, Lisa Valdez, Holly Giles and Dennis Giles; and two brothers, Robert (Pat) Dudeck of South Bend, IN, and Ronald (Carol) Dudeck of South Bend, IN.

 

Mr. Dudeck was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish, was a U.S. Army National Guard veteran and reserve of the Army where he served from 1954-1957. He enjoyed walking along with the other Uniroyal retirees at the University Park Mall in Mishawaka.

 

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2005, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, IN, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2005, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, with Rev. James F. Seculoff officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN.
