Lucinda Dudeck

Lucinda Dudeck, 81, of South Bend, Ind., passed away after an extended illness at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, in New Carlisle Miller's Merry Manor. She formerly owned and operated several restaurants in the area including the Airport Skyroom, and Dudeck's Country Restaurant in North Liberty, Walkerton and New Carlisle, Ind. She was born in Sparksville, Ind., to Clyde Ray Hughes and Lulu Coots.

 

She was married to Ted Dudeck on Oct. 29, 1939, in South Bend. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1998. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lottie Myers and Margaret Green.

She is survived by two daughters, Geraldine (David) Sabaj of South Bend and Kristine (Ronald) Kinas of North Liberty, Ind.; two grandchildren, Steven Kinas and Angela (Dan) Kiefer; two great-grandchildren, Lucinda Kiefer and Addaline Kiefer; three brothers, Thomas Neal (Bettie) Hughes of Salem, Ind., Ray Franklin (Chris) Hughes of Lebanon, Tenn., and William Clyde (Chris) Hughes of West Lafayette, Ind.; and by two sisters, Wanda Mae (Lovell) Newton of Irvington, Ky., and Mary Ellen Fordyce of Salem, Ind.

 

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty, officiated by Tim Stewart, pastor of the Church of Christ. There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Arrangements are being handled by the A.M. Manuel Funeral Home in North Liberty.
