SOUTH BEND - Rev. George L. Dum, CSC, 87, of Holy Cross House, died early today in his residence. Rev. Dum was born Sept. 19, 1906, in Topeka, Kan.

He made his first profession in the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1927 and was ordained in 1933. He taught at the University of Portland, Ore.; was professor of philosophy and composer of music, including the University of Portland Fight Song. He retired to Holy Cross House in 1987.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Basilica. Burial will be in Holy Cross Community Cemetery, Notre Dame. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Friday in Moreau Seminary, where a wake will be at 7:30 p.m.  Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
