Brother William Dunn, CSC, a member of the South-West Province of the Congregation of Holy Cross, passed away peacefully at Dujarie House, Notre Dame, Ind., on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Born near Madison, Wis., Brother William lived sixty of his 84 years as a Brother of Holy Cross.

 

A beloved professor of history, Brother William taught at St. Edward's University, Austin, Texas, for nearly 50 years. More familiar to some by his former religious name, Brother Fabius, he was known for his kind and gentle ways, his personal interest in students, and his sensitivity to issues of social justice.

 

Brother William retired from teaching in 1995 and, as his health needs increased, he moved to Dujarie House. Funeral services will be held at St. Edward's University, Austin, Texas. Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery, Austin. The Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, Ind., is handling arrangements.
