Sister Mary Veronica CSC, of the Sisters of Holy Cross died in the motherhouse of the Congregation at 5 p.m. Monday after a prolonged illness. She was born Mary Elizabeth Dunn in Ottawa, Ill. in 1862. She entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross from her home in Texas, and received the habit of the Congregation in 1883, and made her profession of vows in 1886. She spent many years teaching in the schools of the midwest and eastern provinces. She also held administrative positions and was supervisor of schools in the eastern province. In the midwest she was stationed at Elkhart; Morris, Ill and Danville, Ill. In the east she taught in Washington DC; Baltimore and New York City.

 

Funeral services will be held in the Motherhouse of the Congregation at St. Mary’s Convent, on Wednesday. Friends may call in the convent parlor.
