Sister M. Brigida Dwyer CSC

SOUTH BEND - Sister M. Brigida (Helen Agnes Dwyer), CSC,
88, was born in Geneva, Nebraska, to the late Richard Dwyer and
Helen Shanahan Dwyer. She had a brother, Richard
Francis, who is deceased. Sister's many friends will miss her.
Before entering the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Sister Brigida
worked in an office and at one point worked for the rationing
board during WW II.
Sister Brigida attended Saint Mary's College
and was assigned as part-time secretary in the Generalate of The
Sisters of the Holy Cross. Her ministry, for 40 years, was as
accountant and secretary, Saint Mary's Generalate, Notre Dame,
IN. From 1989 Sister was the assistant in the office of the
Finance Councilor for the Generalate until 1992 when she retired
to do volunteer service to the community. Sister was active in
the Ministry of Prayer until her death. Memorial contributions
may be made to the Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry with the
Poor Fund, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, IN 46556.
Reception of the Body and wake services will
be at 4 p.m. Monday, June 11, in the Church of Our Lady of
Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame. Funeral services will be at
10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, in the Church of Our Lady of
Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame. Kaniewski Funeral Home is
handling arrangements.
