MISHAWAKA -- Joan Eash, 59, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 5:35 p.m. Saturday in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She retired in 2004 as the Executive Director of St. Vincent De Paul Society. She was born on January 26, 1947, to Mary (Scheidl) and William Kierein. She was preceded in death by her father.

On April 8, 1967, as Joan Kierein, she married Glen Eash. He survives, along with a daughter, Jayne Eash of Indianapolis, IN; and a son, Joseph of Mishawaka. Also surviving are two sisters, Patricia Taylor of South Bend and Diane Van Volkinburg of Florida. She was treasurer of St. Vincent De Paul Society of St. Patrick's Church.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 So. Kemble Ave, South Bend, IN, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 19. Burial will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery. The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to St. Vincent De Paul of St. Patrick's Church or to the American Heart Association.
