Mrs. Emily O. Eberhart, whose death occurred on Saturday, February 25, 1893, was born in Mishawaka Dec. 30, 1849. Her maiden name was Emily O. Murphy. She was united in marriage to Charles H. Eberhart, Sep. 11, 1867, who with one daughter, Mrs. Blanche Willard, survive her. The cause of her death was something like membranous croupe, which came to her very suddenly.

She was converted and united with the M. E. Church in 1874, and lived a consistent Christian life. The high regard and esteem in which she was held was shown by the large attendance of friends and neighbors at the funeral.

In the death of Mrs. Eberhart her husband and daughter have lost a sympathizing, affectionate wife and mother; and her father and mother, one brother and one sister, who survive, an affectionate daughter and sister. The neighbors and acquaintances have also lost a kind and helpful friend and the community one of our most respected citizens. But to all it is consoling to know that our loss is her gain. The burial services were held at the late residence of the deceased, 2-1/2 miles east of Mishawaka, on Monday, the 27th, Rev. B. A. Kemp, of the Mishawaka M. E. church, officiating.
