George F. Eberhart Jr., 69, of 1402 E. Jefferson Rd., died unexpectedly at 1 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, where he had been admitted an hour earlier. Mr. Eberhart, a lifetime resident of Mishawaka, was a former Penn Twp. trustee and served as chairman of the Selective Service Board here during World War II.

Mr. Eberhart was a past exalted ruler of South Bend Lodge 225, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and at the time of his death was secretary of the Mishawaka Exchange Club. He had been a Mishawaka automobile dealer for several years until his retirement. He was born in Mishawaka, Aug. 15, 1898 and on Sept. 17, 1919 here he married Miss Adeline Ashcroft.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Francis Gerard of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Charles J. Murphy, South Bend; four grandchildren and a brother, Russell J. Eberhart, Pittsburgh, Pa. Friends may call in the Bubb Funeral Chapel after 7 p.m. today. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Cancer Society.

Friends of George F. Eberhart Jr., 69, of 1402 E. Jefferson Rd., who died Tuesday, may call in the Bubb Funeral Chapel until the funeral services there at 1 p.m. Thursday. Rev. James O. Banks of the Sunnyside Presbyterian Church, South Bend, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
